Carnival Season - Helau and Alaaf
The 5th season - costume for children

Why do we actually celebrate Carnival?
To be clear from the start - the actual reason why we celebrate Carnival has not yet been definitively proven. However, there are some theories that say the colorful costumes and masks were meant to drive away winter. Others claim it is an old pagan custom..
Why do we celebrate Carnival? It is a fact that researchers believed Carnival must be an old custom with which people tried to drive away the cold season. This old custom was supposedly adopted by Christians, as Lent begins after Carnival for Christians. The assumption is that people wanted to let loose one last time before Lent. But none of this is proven anywhere. So the question of "why" remains unanswered.

Colorful, loud, crazy, and full of life - you either love or hate celebrating Carnival

Some love to celebrate Carnival and dress up, others do not. Many prepare for the 5th season for months: dance groups, marching bands, speakers, and all the creative costume makers, crafters, and many more. Children usually follow their parents here. If their parents live out this colorful tradition, they are overwhelmed by the many bright colors, costumes, and celebrating people. Well, of course, also by the many sweets thrown from the floats during the parade. Whether as firefighter, police officer, superhero, cat, princess, clown, and much more, there are countless ideas for costumes. Whether bought or homemade, there are no limits to variety and ideas for Carnival time.
Carnival costume doctor for children

Whether boy or girl, woman or man - the fascination, respect, and gratitude for the work of doctors around the world is boundless. Many children love to play doctor from a young age, caring for their sick plush toys and dolls. Dressing up as a doctor is also very popular during Carnival.
Often we think too complicated, but the simplest ideas are usually the best. You can make a great costume with very simple things that almost everyone has at home. A white shirt, some red paint for decoration, and a few items needed as a doctor such as a mouth/nose mask and instruments for treating patients.
